In January 2020, IAA launch a survey to the community regarding the need for the community center for Indonesian Diaspora in the Washington DC Metro area, a long time dream of the community.
There are about 30 cultural/ethnic groups in DC area, plus a few social/alumni/charity groups, some church congregations, and a few Islamic groups. They all have need to perform, practice, or meeting, and most of them uses the Embassy facility.
As the community grows, the need for a community center is also growing, not only to do all their activities, but also as a place to do workshop and businesses.
