Anti-Racial Profiling Project Coordinator (One-year Fellowship)

Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC (Advancing Justice | AAJC) is a national 501 (c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1991 and located in Washington, D.C.  Our mission is to advance the civil and human rights of Asian Americans and to build and promote a fair and equitable society for all.  For 30 years, we have served as the leading Asian American voice on civil rights issues in our nation’s capital – fighting for the rights of our communities through policy advocacy, litigation, research, public education, and community engagement.

AAJC is looking for a Program Coordinator. This is a one-year fellowship program.

The Program Coordinator will help administer the Anti-Racial Profiling Project (“the Project”) responding to the government’s targeting and surveillance of academics, scientists, researchers, other professionals, and students of Asian origin or descent.  

The Anti-Racial Profiling Project Coordinator will be primarily responsible for coordinating outreach and legal referral services for academics, scientists, researchers, other professionals, and students who are seeking legal counsel related to concerns of government profiling and surveillance, particularly related to alleged connections to China. The Project Coordinator will be trained and supervised by the Staff Attorney, Anti-Racial Profiling and Immigration, to conduct intake for legal referrals. The Project Coordinator will also assist the Staff Attorney, Anti-Racial Profiling and Immigration, and work with the Communications and Community Engagement teams to develop and implement rapid response coordination, community education, communications strategy, field outreach, and advocacy initiatives for the Anti-Racial Profiling Project.
