IAA Celebrates #GivingTuesday and Pledges to Continue the Food Access Program

Washington DC, Nov 28th, 2020 – This #GivingTuesday, IAA is committed to help the Indonesian American community going through the Covid-19 pandemic.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on Dec 1st and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

This year, IAA’s is showing a strong commitment to assist the Indonesian American community with food insecurity during the Covid-19 pandemic. IAA recently leased a warehouse to enable IAA run the Food Access program more regular with culturally-appropriate food. As a non-profit, running any program requires expenditures, and for that IAA requests your support on #GivingTuesday.

IAA is requesting your donation to assist with the program, and this year Facebook is providing $7M matching donation. That means, for a $20 donation, IAA will receive $40. The first $2M matching will be done on Tuesday until the money runs out, and the remaining $5M will be a 10% matching.

IAA is also doing a membership drive, and for a donation of $20 you will become a member of IAA for one year. A $100 donation will get you a lifetime member of IAA. As a member of IAA, you will get priority access to IAA paid events, and you get discounted rate to use the new IAA facility.
